PRESERVE our future

We manufacture natural polymer barrier-coated paper and board, offering sustainable alternatives to plastic-coated packaging.

What we do

What is a natural barrier?

Natural Polymers exist all around us, from the food we eat to the plants we grow - find out how we harness them to create barrier properties on paper and board.

Who are we →

How we do it

The science behind what we do...

We have a range of paperboard and flexible papers that are coated with 100% natural polymer barrier coatings which have good oil and water resistance, are recyclable as paper waste and are 100% plastic-free.

01

Choose the base

We test various substrates to find the most suitable surface for coating. A smoother surface requires less coating, increasing efficiency and sustainability.

02

Choose the coating

We offer specialised barriers for various applications, including coatings for grease and water resistance, as well as heat-sealable options.

03

Combine

We apply the most suitable coating to the substrate based on its end use, rigorously testing it in real-world conditions before certifying the final product.

why it matters

The importance of eco barriers

Our innovations reduce single-use plastics and fossil-fuel-based coatings, driving sustainable packaging for a healthier planet. In the UK, only 46% of the 2.5 million tonnes of plastic packaging is recycled annually, with the rest contributing to severe environmental pollution. We are committed to being part of the solution.

36%

Packaging

Plastic packaging accounts for nearly 36% of all plastic produced globally, making it the largest use of plastic materials.

9%

Recycling Rate

Only about 9% of plastic waste has ever been recycled, with a significant portion of plastic packaging ending up in landfills or the environment.

800K

Food industry

The UK’s food industry produces approximately 800,000 tonnes of plastic packaging each year, much of which is single-use and difficult to recycle.

1mil

Marine animals

Over 1 million marine animals, including fish, seabirds, and mammals, die each year due to plastic pollution in the oceans, much of which is from plastic packaging.
